According to all the doctors and medical books I've consulted, the ooze
doesn't spread the rash. (How could it? It's from INSIDE your body, and
had no contact with the toxin; it's just pus.) However, poison ivy often
breaks out in stages, not to mention the fact that if you don't wash the
oil off ANYTHING you might have touched, you'll run into that oil again.

If the rash spreads all over, always go back to the doctor! There is a
form of sensitivity that's called 'bloodborne' and it causes an all-over
systemic reaction. (the oil isn't bloodbourne, just the reaction.)
