Just remeber baking soda is an abrasive.  I used some to de-stink my wrist brace
once, and wondered the next day why my palm was peeling.  (Then someone pointed
out the obvious.)  Not saying don't use it, just something to keep in mind when
you do.  (ie, don't bind it to tightly to the animal's skin, avoid bandaged or
tender areas, etc.)
