Hey, I may be WAY off-base. This is just what I *thought* I remembered from
a discussion last fall.

If I was wrong, I accept all the error and appologise for the
mis-information.

Except that I don't think that ragweed is related to chamomile.
Chamomile, as previously mentioned, is a composita. That means the
flowers are actually composed of 2 different kinds of flowers, the disk
flowers (the center) and the ray flowers (the petals). I know some of
the asters are fairly small, but these are complex flowers, and bigger
than what I thought ragweed had. And I thought all the compositae were
insect pollinated. The reason that ragweed pollen is such a problem is
the flowers are non-descript and are wind-pollinated. For wind
pollination to occur, there must be lots of pollen. But there is no need
for any kind of fancy flower, because there is no need to attract
insects.

I thought the problem with chamomile was that it tended to grow near
ragweed and bloom at the same time, so picked up the blowing pollen. But
I could be wrong..... Agnes, are you listening? Could you clarify this
for us, please?

to ragweed. Could this be the asthma connection?
