HERB - Rush lights

  I am working on making rush lights and I am having a hard time telling the
difference between English rush (Scirpus lacustris) and Bog Rush (Juncus
effusus).  Going by pictures in my plant books they look the same.  Could
some one tell me if they are interchangeable for this project?
