like "sugar" by the body - it does the exact same thing to blood sugar 
levels as eating a spoonful of table sugar, or fruit sugars.

As for the non-caloric sweeteners like Aspartame and Saccharine - they don't 
respond well to being heated. They break down chemically. That's why a lot 
of "diabetic" recipes still have sugar, just smaller amounts.

She who observed the 20th anniversary of her Diabetes diagnosis on February
