HERB - Chives

I had something similar happen to the row of garlic I put in ("Look honey,
this garlic's started to grow. Let's plant it.") We, too, were having a
hot, dry spell when it happened... I came home to find every trace of them
gone. I chalked it up to the heat, figured I hadn't watered enough, and
decided they had at least added organic matter to my heavy clay soil.
Sounds like you've got a nastier culprit! Good luck with it!
