[Herbalist] Becoming a Healer

I think I have found my calling here - as an herbalist (I am still a
novice - but hope to remedy that soon).  I am joining the SCA for the first
time this weekend at the Namron event north of Guthrie (jumps for JOY!!) and
would really like to start studying to be a healer.  If anyone is from
around here or will be at the event I will be there on Saturday.  If not,
then I would like to tutor with some of you if you don't mind and start
really focusing my energies and such towards learning about period herbs,
salves, gardens - and the like. I guess my question is where is the best
place to begin?  Books obviously, but are there any good herb pages on the
web - I've had difficulty finding any in my own research.  Thank you in
advance.
