[Herbalist] hibiscus care

Assuming I can wrestle my cat away from the darned plant, I'm hoping
my hibiscus will survive the winter indoors. This is the first time
I've grown one. I was initially a bit concerned with the leaf loss
after I moved it inside, but that's slowed down, so I suspect the
shock of moving was all it was.

Has anyone had any luck with period preps of this plant? The best I
can find, I think, is Hildegard von Bingen. I've not had much luck in
any of the other herbals. If anyone's found some, let me know. I'd
like to find some other uses for this plant.
