<DIV> I would first like to thank Their Excellencies, and the Event stewards for the opportunity to serve as Feast Steward. I had a blast and I am everyone enjoyed dinner. I would also like to thank everyone for the compliments and comments about the food. I take a some measure of pride in my cooking, and to hear a near silent feast hall was amazing! (not that my ego needs anymore boosting) For the servers I send out my deepest gratitude for your efforts to help get everyone fed. My turban is off to you!</DIV>

<DIV> For those who requested it, and I am absolutely floored by the compliment, here is the soup recipe. It's one of those that has to be tweaked to your personal taste.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>1 stick REAL butter</DIV>
<DIV>1/2 cup flour</DIV>
<DIV>3 leeks (about 3/4" in diameter)</DIV>
<DIV>8 oz fresh mushrooms</DIV>
<DIV>1 14 oz can of chicken broth (vegetble stock can be substituted)</DIV>
<DIV>1 quart milk</DIV>
<DIV>garlic, salt, white pepper to taste</DIV>
<DIV>parmesan cheese to thicken, about 1/4 cup</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Slice the leeks in thin circles, including the tops, rinse thouroughly. Course chop the mushrooms. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Melt butter, add the leeks and mushrooms and "sweat" over low heat until tender.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Stir in flour, and cook to thicken, careful not to scorch. Stir frequently.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Add the milk and broth, then seasoning once liquids have warmed. Add the cheese and let simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring frequntly to prevent clumping or scorching. </DIV>
