Saw this story on CNN, too...the amphora contained "a fish condiment" -- gee, I wonder what THAT could be?? The story indicates that it doesn't know what the ingredients of the condiment were. All they have to do is read Apicius' cookbook!

The ship is estimated to have been 100 feet long and carried 1,500
amphorae as well as ingots of lead. The ship is said to be in "good"
condition with most of the cargo intact and buried in the mud.
