While I don't think any of us are going I thought this might be of interest,
since they will be selling them afterwards as well.

> Greeting unto the Good Gentles of the Rialto:
>
> From the Kingdom of Merdies comes a band of SCA musicians brought together
> by a love of the music and dance of the Middle East. Peach Curry
announces
> it's release of their first CD, "Dancing with the Infidels", availble at
> Pennsic.
>
> Beginning our musical journey in 1999, one of the things that Peach Curry
> noticed early on was the definite line drawn between the European Revels
and
> the Middle Eastern Haflas. Our goal over the past two years has been to
> help bring the two camps together through and understanding of each
other's
> music, dance, and culture. With this in mind, we set out on a journey to
> record music specifically designed for the SCA. We polled the dance
> masters and mistresses of Meridies; The European songs we recorded were
among
> the
> most requested.
>
> To help encourage more group dancing on the Middle Eastern side, our own
> professional dancer created several dances based on her 15 years of study:
> circle dance, line dances, stick battle dances, Andalusian scarf dances,
> wedding dances, etc. All of these dance instructions are included in a
> dance book under the same name. There will only be 100 dance books
available
> at Pennsic. These books also contain the sheet music and dance steps for
> every song on the CD.
>
> This professionally recorded CD contains the following European and Middle
> Eastern songs:
> Sepastia Bar (circle dance with increasing speeds, like the hora)
> Black Nag - Dance by same name
> Gyspy Syrto (3 person Algerian Stomp dance - with Tempo Changes)
> Korobushka - Dance by same name
> Lamma Bada (10/8 Samai- Andalusian circle Scarf dance)
> Hole in the Wall - Dance by same name
> Tafta Hindi (lively line dance with several short solos)
> Official Bransle- Dance by same name
> Duelling Turks (men's stick battle dance)
> Trenchmore - Dance by same name
> Uskudar (Turkish folk song with vocals, wedding circle dance)
> Schiarazula Marazula - Maltese/Turkish Bransle dance
> and Shifting Sands (A chifti groove mix, sounds just like what you would
> hear at a really good hafla)
>
> Note: Though we've recorded European songs, some have a definite Middle
> Eastern feel. Kinda our way of sneaking dumbeks into the revels!
> (snicker-snicker)
>
> I will not list all the instruments used in this recording, but the most
> prominent are: Turkish baglama saz, Egyptian 'Ud, Hammered Dulcimer,
Violin,
> Persian Stringed tar, Oboe, clarinet, recorders, lots of drums, etc.
>
> You will be able to find these items at the following merchants on August
> the 11th:
> Pillaged Village
> Touch the Earth
> Kingstaste Productions (in Bazaar #1)
> Father Dunn's Jewelry
>
> Though we can not control the final price, the suggested price will be:
> CD only - $16
> Book Only - $15
> CD & Book Combo - $26
>
> After Pennsic, our website will offer the CD and possibly the book for
sell.
> Members of Peach Curry will be performing on site.
>
> Our web site will soon have a section added where the CD can be purchased
> directly. If you are unable to attend Pennsic and would like a copy,
please
> contact us through our website. CD's will be available after our return
> from Pennsic on August 20th. If the dance book proves as popular as we
> think it will be, we expect to sell out, but will request a second
printing
> and make those available as soon as possible. For more information,
