If you want a tire dealers wheel weights,
why don't you just stop by the nearest tire dealer and ask him?
The last time I did this, I got a whole 5 gal bucket free.
He was happy :) for me to take it off of his hands for him.

If you go to a scrap metal dealer, you will pay premium prices for it.

Has anyone calculated how many pounds are needed for this project?

Perhaps we should just save some money and use gold? It is about twice as
heavy
as lead.

More seriously, does anybody know anybody that works for a tire dealer? If
we
can find a source, used wheel weights are about the best bet.
Might be more practical to call a scrap metal dealer and see what we can get
lead for. Or wheel weights in bulk. They are an alloy, but for weights, our
lead need not be pure.
