That distance was thrown by an air cannon.  The winning trebuchet was the "
King Arthur " and it threw a respectable 643.69 ft.  They each get three
tries and all of this one had over 600 ft.  The pictures will be up later
and we can get a look at it.

Something for us to aim at.
