It's left to choice, but we do encourage everyone to do so.  We often have people who are in the park for ballgames, etc, who come over to see "what those people in the funny clothes are doing".

And it makes for a nice atmosphere, with a number of folk in garb watching the fighters hit each other with sticks.  :)
