I'm certainly no authority, but I would have to guess that it is,
largely because the more complex a cheese is, the later period it seems
to be and cream cheeses are almost trivial to make.
These is not the only cream cheese recipe I've seen, but they were
pretty easy to find on short notice.
The same site has a several other cheese recipes of varying complexity:
Mock Ricotta (uses tofu)
Turkish Yogurt Cheese
P.S. This site has a category for "Extraterrestrial and Bizarre Recipes"
which include, amongst other things, Baked Camel, Trilobite Creole and
Gaahk (although I think they have the Gaahk wrong...)
