Subject: "period food" heads up on FoodTV

> This coming Sunday night (the 15th), the Food Channel is running two
> shows on English food... the first is "Eat Like a King" and looks at
> "the food myths and 16th century realities of King Henry VIII's court
> and Tudors of England. We encounter the tools of the medieval shefs who
> provided food for more than 1,200 people a day." ... the second is
> "Tasting England" and is about "traditional English cooking", sorry, no
> idea how old, new, or just "typical" that one is.

> They will air from 9:00 PM -
11:00 PM Sunday 9/15/02 and then again from 12:00 AM - 2:00 AM Monday
morning (for us night owls & those of us traveling home from MDRF). Here
are the overviews of the shows :

 and
http://www.foodtv.com/foodtv/episode/0,6283,ENSP01,00.html

And their menus/recipes are here:

The shows will be rebroadcast on the 21st, too (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) but I'll
be at faire that weekend also....................damn this programming!
Catch & print those recipes quickly, folks. TVFood Network will probably
delete them within the next two weeks or so after the final airings.
