For use in the viking era camp, some things to keep in mind.

Turned wooden bowls and plates, were used. As we are in Ireland, pottery
would be acceptable, but not modern wild glazes. Most of their stuff
seems to have been a dark grey, and not very decorated.

Glasses of metal, wood, pottery and glass are known. Cups and mugs with
handles are Not, so far as I can tell. Yes, drinking horns were used:
they do not seem to have been common. There seems to be a common belief
among researchers that they were cerimonal. Use them if you like - this
appears to be a reason for being cerimonial!

spoons of metal; bone, wood, and horn are good, round bowls on them are
best, with plain handles. We have a stew being prepared - a spoon is
good.

No personal forks, vinkings do not have such weak fingers that wee need
them (grin) (Then did not start to come into use in northere europe
until then end of the middle ages. I have read that Queen Elizabeth was
given a set, but did not use them.

Knives of the carbon steel with wooden handles (such as inexpensive
paring knives) are approprate
Double edged daggers are Not.

Wear your best early period stuff (remember it is the 9th century!)
during the day saturday.

Ok, everybody, what are your names for this time period?

I am Uddgar. (I will Polydore sometime in a few centuries...) A second
son who took up trading, as my older brother inherits the farm.
