Oh, the wailing, the mourning, the gnashing of teeth!  Sackcloth and ashes!  A dire day of danger, death and destruction, a dearth of delight, deadly to dozens of denizens doomed to dwell in despair and dementia!

Also a good reason to hold one heck of a revel!

Yes, it’s the Fifth Annual Padraig Ruad O’Maolagain Wake and Bardic Beerfest!

Games!  Food!  Drink!  Dancing!  Singing!  Competitions!  Fighting!  A dead Irishman!  What more could you ask for?

Fighters, come and try your mettle in the Beerpit.  Archers, try to shoot the apple off Padraig’s head (well, off his helm, anyway).  Bards, practice your best piece about death, gloom and doom, and compete for the honor of being the very first Dead Bard.  Also, games suitable for all ages.

Smoked meats will be provide, along with iced tea and lemonade, paper plates and plastic flatware.  Please bring your favorite food to share (enough for 8 to 10 servings) for the pot luck feast.  If you don’t cook (or just don’t want to), breads, cheeses, vegetable trays, fruit trays and other finger foods are always welcome.

Other things to bring:  whatever you like to drink, mugs, chairs, musical instruments, songbooks, armor, weapons, bows and arrows, etcetera.

There is plenty of room to camp, so you are welcome to bring your tent and stay the night.  If you plan to imbibe and do not have a designated driver, we recommend that you plan on  camping, as the police along Jacksboro Highway are very alert to intoxicated drivers.
