[Loch-Ruadh] thoughts on bardics

First I will reply as Loch Ruadh's Seneschal:

Thank you, Vivian, for bringing up this topic. It's refreshing to see our
members post questions such as this. It shows you have noticed something
that might need looking into and require further discussion.

Bardic was changed to Saturday night because a number of our populace
brought it to my attention and requested the change. I brought the change up
at a populace meeting, a vote was taken and moving Bardic to Saturday night
won by a large majority. Moving bardic around was also done at the will of
the people attending bardic. No one has come to me requesting any change
since then.

As Seneschal my job is to meet the will of the majority of the populace. If
you want anything changed come talk to me, any other officer of the group,
bring it up at populace meeting, attend Officer's meeting or talk about it
on this list. This is YOUR group and anything can be changed if that is what
the majority wants. Communication is and always will be the key. If you
don't tell us it is broke we can't do anything to fix it. I may not always
agree with you or your ideas, but I will ALWAYS listen and more importantly
HEAR you. I make no decisions, on my own, for this group. Everything that is
brought to me, as Seneschal, is discussed at Officer's meeting and/or
Populace meeting.

Now my personal opinion:
Agrees with everything I said as seneschal. Though I do feel that attendance
will always fluctuate as it did when bardic was always held on Wednesday
night at my house. Sometimes we had 25 people attending and sometimes we had
6. Putting 12 people in my livingroom pretty much fills it up, so most
bardic nights it looked to be very well attended.
