roaring-boys:  The riotous blades of Ben Jonson's time, who took delight in annoying quiet people.  At one time, their pranks in London were carried to an alarming extent.  They were also called "roarers".  (James Halliwell's "Dictionary of Archaic and Provincial Words", 1855.)

Describes my young'uns to a tee.
