The first element Geir- is identical to the Old
Icelandic geirr, "spear."

The second element -marr comes from the OW.Norse
adjective mærr, "famous, glorious, great", derived in
turn from the proto-Scandinavian máriR "to
distinguish, to praise, to commend". 


inn seki -  Found in The Old Norse Name by Geirr Bassi
Haraldsson page 27 means "outlaw, exile"
