Well, he is married to Kat, who is my Chief Minion, and he's an
Irishman...   It's obvious that only the fact that Alric is Cathal's
House-brother kept him from harm.  That, or the possibility that Alric
might have fallen on Cathal had he pulled the ladder.  ;-)
