Friends,
  My valiant and serene nephew Jef lost his battle with cancer about 11:00 
this morning. The last 3 days of his life were spent surrounded by friends 
and those who loved him. Throughout this ordeal he maintained his wit, 
humor, and implacable strength. Our lives will be a bit less bright for his 
loss, but his pain has ended.
  I don't have the specifics on funeral arrangements as yet. His internment 
will be at Laurel Land, but details have not been finalized.
  At present there is not anything that any of you can do to assist us, but 
when needs arise I will let you know.
  Thank you for being with us over the past 15 months.
