[Loch-Ruadh] Maybe The Dark Horde is Onto Something...

Well that's close.

These were some stone "doughnuts" that my friend kept finding when he went scuba diving on the California coast. He finally got curious and took one to a university professor. The professor told him that they were weights that the Chinese used to use on fishing nets. My friend commented that they must be a couple of hundred years old and the professor said no, they were more like a thousand years old or older. The professor stated that it was pretty much well known that there is evidence that Chinese fishermen were fishing the coast before Columbus.

This is the story he told me, but I haven't ever researched it, just sort of filed it in the "Hmmmm" file.

I have two blown glass floats that the Orientals used in their fishing
nets. My ex brother-in-law found them on the shores in Alaska. Does that
count?
