[Loch-Ruadh] Hello....

Logan is home! He decided to attend at the last minute. Actually, I sort of pushed him into it because he has been so grouchy lately that I felt he needed some time off. The kids and I were unable to attend because Brighid had a UIL competition on Saturday. She participated in editorial writing, extemporaneous speaking, and social studies, and placed 2nd in social studies.

Logan got results recently from some tests done at the VA hospital (MRI & CAT scans) - the ball of his left shoulder looks like a mace, as the bone has grown spiny protusions, and the socket has grown a flange of bone around the ball to protect the surrounding tissue from the bony spikes, sort of like internal armor. The doctor wants to perform a replacement surgery to give Logan some relief from the constant pain. Logan also has several bulging disks in his neck and back, and his back has some disks with narrowing of the spinal column, causing compression on the spinal cord. He has been told this is very dangerous and not to do any heavy lifting or hard work of any kind. This is all in addition to the degenerative arthritis of his spine. The doctors are currently trying to decide if they want to operate or come up with a viable non-surgical treatment.

I hope everyone had a good time and not too many people were poisoned with Bio-Hazard (TM, patent pending).

Madelina
