Marion and I plan to leave some time around noon Thursday. We will bring our pop-up. We can also take any thing that will fit in the bed of our truck that needs to be carried from here. We can also stay til Tuesday and help Terrance pack up.

Subject: [Loch-Ruadh] Gulf War Gate Trip - Very Important

We have a work trip scheduled for Memorial Day weekend to King's Arrow Ranch to complete work on our Gulf War land gate. To get everything done, we really need at least ten people on site.  We will be putting up scaffolding, attaching screen to the framework where needed, and plastering the screen and the existing covered surfaces with cement.  We will also be putting in the posts for our wing walls, and if time permits, doing the regular mowing and trimming maintenance on the land itself.

Those who have committed to go so far:

Kaz (if his work-related trip does not conflict)
Gruffydd
Marion
Terrence
Alric
Padraig

Alric and I are planning on leaving Thursday morning (27 May) so that we can get the scaffolding and get it set up prior to the arrival of the rest of the crew, giving us more time to do the actually finishing work on the gate structure.  Terrence coming out Friday night, but is planning on staying an extra day to return the scaffolding.  I am not sure about the travel plans for Kaz, Gruffydd and Marion.

Aside from the gas to get there and back, this does not have to be an expensive trip.  We can camp on the land, or if desired, get rooms at the Kings Arrow motel, and if we do common meals, we can keep costs down that way, too.  If we can share rides as much as possible, we can also share the gas costs.

It is very important that we complete the gate and the basic wing walls (at least posts) on this trip.  We had agreed to have the work done two years ago, and if we do not complete it this time, we are in danger of losing our land and having the gate pulled down.  We have put far too much time, effort and money into it to have that happen.

If there is any way you can go on this trip and help out, please consider doing so.  Please email me at seneschal at lochruadh.org if you can be part of the work crew.  If you would like to travel with someone who is already planning on going, conta
