For some robotics projects years ago and UHMW rod for combat archery
projects only slightly more recently, I found it at American Plastics in
Fort Worth, near my old office...

American Plastics has been acquired by Curbell Plastics. They appear to
have facilities in Fort Worth and Arlington. That may be a good place to
start....
