Use ICE In Case of Emergency<br>

One of the difficulties long faced by emergency services personnel is

how to locate next of kin for (or obtain other necessary information
<br>
about) a victim who is unconscious, dead, or otherwise unable to <br>
respond to questions. A small British program aimed at addressing this
<br>
need has caught on all over the world.<br>
<br>
East Anglian Ambulance Services launched a national "In Case of
<br>
Emergency ( ICE )" campaign with the support of Falklands war hero
<br>
Simon Weston and in association with Vodafone's annual life savers <br>
award. This program advocates that people simply store the word " I
C <br>
E " in their mobile phone list, along with the name and contact
<br>
information of the person to be called "In Case of Emergency."
In an <br>
emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to
<br>
quickly find next of kin or other designated emergency contact. For
<br>
more than one contact name use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc., to indicate the
<br>
order of importance. <br>
