w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> area but didn’t
know exactly where. So how old were you when I was stationed at Williams
AFB (now a low income housing project from what I’ve been told) east of <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Chandler</st1:place></st1:City> in February of
1974? I’ve been to Luke AFB a couple of times while I was stationed
there. We used to take our F-5 fighters over there and fly “turkey
shoots” (mock air-to-air combat) against the F-15 fighters when they were
first stationed there in the mid ‘70s. I transferred out in
November of 1981 but not till after I got married (to my ex) and both my boys
were born, my oldest Scott at Williams AFB and his younger brother <st1:PersonName
w:st="on">Matt</st1:PersonName> at <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Desert</st1:PlaceType>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Samaritan</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Hospital</st1:PlaceType>
in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Mesa</st1:place></st1:City>.
Many of you know <st1:PersonName w:st="on">Matt</st1:PersonName> as Eric the
younger. I haven’t been back to the <st1:City w:st="on">Phoenix</st1:City>
area other than to fly through the airport since 1989 and the only thing I miss
about the place is tubing the Salt River and hiking in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Superstition</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Mountains</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>.
But I’m too old for that silly stuff any more. I don’t miss
