Print it on a black-and-white printer (e.g. a laser printer)? Use  
scissors to cut out the stuff that isn't the serpent? I dunno... just  
thoughts... don't know if that's going to drive towards the solution  
you seek... but throwing them out there anyway, in hopes that they  
are helpful. :-)
