Marthe Cole (claryce at mmcable.com) said something that sounded like:

I hate to burst your memory bubble on this one.

If I remember right:

Sir Burke along with the Crown choose HE Galen to autocrat ATYC and he
was a deputy Kingdom Seneschal for the event.

The Southern Regional Faire autocrats were decided by the Regional
Seneschal and were deputies to the Regional Seneschal for the event.
As well, the Barony of Bryn Gwlad was the group that hosted the bank
account and the autocrats were from Bjornsborg.

Minor nitpick. Part of the bid proposal for Regional/Kingdom events
probably included the proposed autocrat. If the autocrat is not
acceptable, the group will be informed of that or not given the bid. If
another autocrat is proposed and not acceptable to the group, they do
not have to participate.

As a simple example, as a Seneschal I would not choose a first time
autocrat over someone who has a few successful events under their belt
for a large event. It becomes a more difficult decision when you have
to choose between an untried autocrat over a known bad autocrat.

Absolutely. I don't see anyone arguing that right. Personally I don't
think it was handled in the best manner from what I've seen on this list,
but I admit that I don't have inside knowledge about all the going ons.

> But it doesn't end there. If the group even considers pulling out,

Well I could be wrong, it wouldn't be a first, but I doubt that a single
action would cause sanctions to be leveled against any group.

Now that being said, all I've seen about "sanctions" is from Richard
stating:

"A decision was made to treat them in what was felt to be appropriate
for the behavior; and it was no way."

Now that can mean a *lot* of things. It could mean that they are not
allowed to host the event, to being told they misbehaved and not to
repeat the inappropriate behavior, or even a firm shake of the finger
at them. I for one don't know what that means.

and then Ulf and Maleah following up with:

"A decision was made by the Kingdom Seneschal to sanction a barony.
That Kingdom Seneschal imposed those sanctions without ever talking to
the Baron and Baroness about the situation. I, for one, fail to see how
   that is appropriate."

If it's an official sanction that is to be held with any sort of power of
Law, it has to be at least printed in the Kingdom newsletter. Until then,
I consider it to be simple hearsay or possible words spoken in the heat
of the moment.

If it's considered inappropriate of the Kingdom Seneschal, I am sure
that the Crown and Society Seneschal will hear about it and take actions
appropriate to the nature of the incident. Then again, I would hope that
the Crown would do the same if the behavior of a Landed Noble is considered
inappropriate as well.

> I ask you all to consider these things. I won't argue people,
> personalities, or old conflicts.

Oh fine. Take all the fun out of it for people. *wink*

Ciao,
