Agnes and Wilhelm,

Thanks for your input but I think that my earlier statement about the reasons for the schedule (and possible changes) answers most of your questions. Doing two areas means twice as much entertainment also.

Yes, people do like to hear the crash of swords, etc., but not everyone joins the SCA to fight and our other talented and gifted artists need to be highlighted also. This is an SCA demo -- not just a fighting demo and we are a multi-talented, multi-faceted organization where everyone needs to be helpful, repsectful and supportive of all. People also love the sound of music and dance and are drawn to that noise as well.

As to fighters have difficulties with fighting for 10 or 15 minutes and then standing around waiting -- they should maybe attend a tournament sometime! ;0) As I recall at Protectorate, the fighters would fight and then wait anywhere for 20 to 40 minutes between rounds and it took HOURS to complete the tourney. All stayed in armor and waited to be called up again. When they came off the field, they popped their lids, drank from the water bearers and watched the other fighters.

I actually have a lot of faith in the goodness, kindness and respectfullness of all the SCA members and feel that all of us will be able to play together for three days, keeping the schedule flexible along with our own attitudes.

As to the work day, I unfortunately will be unable to attend because I am going to Border Wars. However, I appreciate it very much that you are holding this at your home -- that really shows the true SCA spirit and support of the dream.

With Regards,
Bianca
