>From what I understand, this particular virus grabs your email list.  It
picks one address at random to send "to", and picks another at random to
send "from" (i.e. it lies).  It also does not use your email program to
send the messages, so just checking your sent folder will not help.

Free virus scanning software is available out there, though a little
work is involved in setting it up.  Several good commercial packages are
also available and are very reasonably priced.

Finally, remember that just because you installed a virus scanner
doesn't mean you are immune.  New virii come out every week. It is very
important to "update" your virus scanner on a regular basis.  Several
have the ability to automatically get the latest virus lists from the
Internet every week or so.  If yours does not, then you need to do it
for it.
