Data, with a minigun. Or perhaps black spandex, a few dozen implants,
and some green mood lighting is more likely.

And why yes, while I am off the arthritis drugs I may, perhaps, drink a
small amount of beer, wine, mead, hard cider, whiskey, sake, champagne,
ale, pyment, and whatever I can find in the beer fridge, beer room,
local liquor stores, restaurants, and from anyone else who has booze
because damn, am I in a lot of pain. This is one of those times I am
very happy I have my own beer kegging equipment.

But hay, I'll only be off the arthritis drugs for several more weeks,
plus the pain of a 3 inch incision down the length of one of my
fingers, and the slight pain caused by the removal of a finger joint
and its replacement with a plastic one, and oh yes, the sweet agony of
physical therapy.

All that said, the pain from the surgery sure as hell beats the
alternative.

For those who are wondering why they had me stop taking my arthritis
drugs, there are two reasons:

1. The drugs, by their very nature, turn my immune system down
(rheumatoid arthritis is caused by an overactive immune system). My
ability to fight infections is greatly reduced when I am taking my meds.

2. Some of the drugs have the side effect of acting as blood thinners.
If I have them in my system during surgery I could bleed to death.

And now back to your regularly scheduled mailing list . . .
