Greetings,
  We had our first UNofficial populace and business meeting in Shawnee this 
weekend.I would ask those of you that have email to pass this information on 
to those that you know that dont have email.Now that that is out of the 
way,we discussed several important issues.
    But first,I'd like to thank all of you that braved the 106 degree 
temperatures to be at the meeting.Your dedication is truly appreciated.And 
thanks go to those that came out from Namron.We know that was a long and hot 
drive only to be rewarded witha meeting in 106 degree weather.
   We were able to keep skargaard witha few changes.Most will still call us 
skargaard even with the new spelling.It is pretty much unchanged.The new 
spelling is Skarrgard(the d is the funny little norse d with the cross of 
the tail,but i dont know how to make it appear like that,,lol).Pronunciation 
is Skarrgarth with a hard "TH" as in "the".
   The device changes were made.These the addition of the laurel wreath 
countercharged at the bottom of our device(the red and gold one),and the 
repositioning of the quarter moons to have the point of the moons pointing 
left as you are facing the device.there is no guarantee that either will 
pass the college of heralds,but they are ready for submission as soon as we 
get everything else taken care of.
      The times and places of our meetings have changed as well.I will be 
calling those i have numbers for to notify them of the changes and they are 
as follows:Populace meeting has been changed in time and place only.It will 
still be held on the 3rd sunday of every month.However,populace meetings 
will be held at Double Dave's pizza(pending agreement with the manager) at 
6pm.
      Fighter practice has been changed as well due to heat and undesirable 
presences at our last park.Fighter practice will now be held at Kidspace 
Park on Center Street at 7pm on every Sunday except for the Sunday of our  
populace meeting.This will be done until we decide we dont like the park 
which may be never.The time is summer time to avoid some of the heat(we 
hope).I will be mass mailing directions to the new park in a different 
email.
     We talked about Namron Protectorate and what we can do to help as a 
GROUP.We had thrown around the idea of feast,but HL Owen Stott will be doing 
the feast.Lord Cellach Ferguson thought it would be a good idea to do the 
set up and tear down of the list and the baronial pavillions and brought it 
forward at our meeting.We decided we could do that.This set-up/tear down 
doesnt mean we cant help in other areas individually.So thank you in advance 
for those of you that will be willing and able to help.
    We also discussed some ideas for Demos.We had two ideas.One would be a 
demo at the mall in September/October time frame.I need to get an 
appointment with the mall manager and see if  we can even do one first.This 
demo would just be a fundraiser type for our new group.It would be a bake 
sale as far as the fundraiser part goes.As for the Demo,it would be a mini 
SCA event.We would need fighters,craftsman,bards,and anyone else we can 
think of to help.
   The second demo would be a toy tourney type thing.We would have the 
fighters draw from a hat for the different charities in our local area.They 
would then fight for thier chosen charity.Division of toys collected to be 
divided equally among the different charities,with the  winning fighter and 
his charity earning bragging rights.Someone suggested a favor for the 
fighter who wins,and a banner for the charity that wins.And if anyone you 
seamstresses out there would like to make and donate these after we 
finallize the agreement withe mall manager,it would be greatly 
appreciated.Suggestions on these two demos would be appreciated if you have 
any other ideas that would benefit us.These demos will not only get us 
exposure to the local people,but will also raise funds for our new group.
  We also did our first "hat pass" for funds.We collected $20.21.So we are 
no longer in the red,,lol..No longer broke in other words.Thank for your 
donations folks.
