Hey you guys!

I'm making a vaguely scroll-like celtic knotworked thing for the kids to
color/paint (medium to be determined) as a memento of the evening. I'll
also be bringing my current knotwork embroidery project, a Book of Kells
coloring book, and Celtic iron-on transfers book for display. It would be
cool if any of you who have books, artworks, project, etc relating to
knotwork or illumination (esp. historical explanations) could bring or lend
them also.

If you have something to send, please let me know so I can pick it up
tomorrow.

Thanks!

Samantha,

I had an idea for the party: I have some books and stuff on Celtic
knotwork, and I thought I could make some "scrolls" up for the kids by
printing some knotwork designs with the words "Maysville High Class of
2004" or something. I could display a couple of books and examples of
knotwork such as embroidery and historic pictures, and bring markers or
something for the kids to color their "scrolls". I know painting would be
more cool, but I'm not sure that would be feasible.

I would need table space for the kids to use, a count of how many copies,
and any markers or whatever medium anyone can spare. I can buy some markers
myself, but if you have a better idea, please let me know.

Thanks!

  Good morning!

I'm sorry to have missed last week's populous meeting, but was sidetracked
with Spring Break. I wanted to check in about the Maysville After Prom
Party and see if you could send me the e-mail addresses of those planning on
attending and I'll send them a map on how to get to the building where we
are holding the prom and after prom party.

Also, I've left a message for Kathy in regards to attending the Medieval
Fair, (my daughter wants to help as a character). We've since found out
that ACT testing will be that Saturday, so we need to figure out what times
she would be able to be there and what times would be most helpful for the
fair.

And...speaking of fairs...I'm in charge of organizing the Wiley Post
Festival in Maysville each year to raise funding for the library. We have a
carnival, craft fair, musical performances, etc. If anyone would be
interested in coming and displaying crafts, skills, talents, etc. I'd love
to know. If you want more information, just e-mail me at the library
mysvllbk at wilnet1.com. We should be there at the April 7th populous meeting,
as it is the last meeting before prom.

Thanks again for everyone's interest and help!

  Sincerely,

  Samantha Robb, Librarian and Mom

  Maysville Public Library

  Maysville Jr. Prom Planning Committee.
