Probably. That's often what happens when the original
wheel isn't out where it can be seen. A lot of the
discussion on this list has pointed out resources that
many didn't know existed. If we don't know they are
there and it is what is needed, then of course, we are
going to try to reinvent it. EVerytime someone points
out an existing resource, that means it's something we
DON'T have to redo.

I know I keep saying the same things over and over
again, but if these resources exist, then we need to
get them of the shelf, blow off the dust, and put them
in front of people. I can hardly wait to get my hands
of some of the things that have been uncovered during
this discussion (on order and waiting for them to
arrive).

And good grief, our poor hospitaler. I've been in her
shoes a few times and they aren't fun ones to wear --
trying to clean up someone else's mess, reinvent what
needs to be available, repopulate the "box of goodies"
and it IS a tremendously hard task. Apparently she
has a job and a title but she also has a lot more to
do than she would have if the baton had been passed
properly.

Does this stuff happen? Yes, and in almost every
organization of people I have ever been around. And,
thank goodness for those souls who are willing to take
the baton anyway and attempt to run with it. They
usually fall down a few times before getting around
the track, but once up and running, they are true
assets wherever they are.
