[Namron] sewing help (again)

Okay I have done a good one this time.  Please excuse the silly and maybe obvious question, It's not to me.  

My sewing machine died so I brought out the standby A Singer Fashion-mate model 237.  This is my problem. The bobbin thread won't come up. I threaded it correctly just can't catch the bobbin thread

Ideas, Help, Something??.  Trying to finish garb and alter some mundane clothes.
