[Namron] Hospitaler Mentor Project

Greetings, this is your happy big-mouthed (as halldor has deemed me) Acting Hospitaler for Skaargard with a brief announcement (not sure if it would be a publice service or not...hehehe):

Our fair Namron Hopitaler, Grainne, and I , will be setting into motion a Mentor Project for newcomers.... as not all newcomers can go to every class, meeting, or practice, (but we all itch for those events!), we are seeking to appoint veteran Scadians in our areas to be mentors to our newbies... This is in no way a replacement for classes or pawning off our job on others, but merely a way to get newcomers out into the network of our extended family that is Namron and Skaargard.  This way when someone comes up to me, for example, and says to me at first,  "Hey i wanna learn heavy fighting", or "I wanna learn card-weaving" (two things at which i am super in-experienced), I can say, well this is Halldor who is an excellent heavy fighter and would be happy to help you, or this is Annabelle who has been weaving forever so she can show you everything you need to get started... and we can pair our newbies with experienced players, since we only have 2 hands they can hold that are usually
 full :)

 Many in the SCA generally take newcomers under their wing without being asked, but we feel that if we do have "mentors" with whom they can meet, we can speed up that process, and make for a more well-rounded barony and canton.

so, if you have been actively playing for more than 2 or 3 years, or have been an officer before, or are skilled in your fighting or craft, and are willing to mentor a new member who is interested in similar areas, please contact me or grainne with your contact info and what you can do or teach (as i dont know everyone no matter how hard i try) and we will get this program off and rolling!!!!
