Greetings once more this morn!

As I announced at Populace last evening, Bjorn and I
welcome one and all to Bjornsstead to celebrate the
mundane, but ever so important, holiday of
Independence Day.

Bjorn works nights, but is available the evenings of
Sunday, July 3rd or Monday, July 4th. Of course, as
we plan on staying up late for all the fun, I would
prefer and suggest that we celebrate on the 3rd. That
would allow many to sleep in on the July 4th holiday.

Our stead is vast and rural and far enough away from
civilization that the only light you see at night is
that provided by the moon and stars. Fireworks in
that atmosphere are beautiful. And, being rural,
there's no one to tell us we can't set them off, or
build a big bonfire, or make a lot of noise! So, If
you're free on the 3rd and want to pot-luck and light
up the sky, let me know the following:

1. NAME
2. # of family/group attending
3. Food/Beverages/Utensils you might bring (I'm
thinking of making a turkey)
4. And if you are bringing fireworks, type of firework
and special needs would be good info to have.

Bjorn also asks that I remind everyone that if you
plan on partaking of alcoholic refreshment, please
have either a designated driver to take you home OR a
tent to pitch so you can sleep it off! Camping is
always welcome but it will be a primitive site.
Campers are welcome to come set up Saturday evening to
enjoy more of the weekend. You'll need your own
shower set up, however,(unless you don't mind bathing
in the pond), and toilet facilities (AKA MY bathroom)
will only be available as long as Bjorn and I are
awake. After we fall asleep you're on your own!

For Kid's entertainment we have swings and things,
water pistols, etc. Any additional items you wish to
bring that will enrich the experience of children
and/or adults is most certainly welcome(such as
badmitton, horseshoes, tug of war, watermellons and
seed spitting, etc.). Fishermen & Fisherwomen, &
Fisher Kings for that matter, are welcome to come
early in the day and enjoy the delights of our pond.
JUST DON'T MOLEST THE WATERFOWL. They are special to
me and I wish for them to continue nesting with us.
Also, swimming is allowed, but you may do so at your
own riske and no children are allowed to swim without
adult supervision. Also, this is a FARM and there's
usually equipment and stuff around, so , while we
encourage the kids to run freely and have tons of fun,
we also encourage them to be cautious.

ANIMAL ALERT: Be advised that there are critters at
Bjornsstead. There are a number of horses that are
free roaming, and while usually kind and gently
affectionate, we must all remember that they are LARGE
animals and can be unpredictable. Discuss proper
safety behavior with children please. We also have
some cats and a dog, but they are VERY friendly and
loveable. BRING BUG REPELLENT! It's is the country,
folks, and we do have ticks and mosquitos.

And, lastly, if any of you wish to, we can arrange for
fighting, archery, axe-throwing, wrestling, etc...as
competitions or just for the heck of it. Just let me
know what you'd like to do and we'll see who might be
around to facilitate that activity.

The building of the bonfire will begin Sunday morning
and will probably consist of felling trees, finding
felled trees, dragging said trees to Bonfire site,
chopping, sawing, and stacking said trees, application
of combustable liquid to stacked trees and resting a
while till time to contact the mothership. (this would
also be a good day to scout locations for that Viking
Hall some of you have been talking about!)

There is, of course, no site fee for this event as
it's just we'uns inviting you'uns to our place,
however any financial contributions you might like to
make can be made to the Barony of Namron (Please be
sure to note whether your donation is for the Barony's
coffers or if it intended to go towards the Brewers
Guild)

We are so looking forward to seeing you!

Lady Samarrah bint Annaan

P.S. Should you need directions, please do not
hesitate to contact me.

God be with you in every pass. Jesus be with you on every hill. Spirit be with you in every stream, headland, ridge and law, each sea and land, each moor and meadow, lying down and rising up, in the trough of the waves or on the crest of the billow. Each step of the journey you go, go with God.
