[Namron] Devices and AoAs?

Etiennett and others,

Part of the confusion might be the terminology.  You can register a
DEVICE from the day you start playing in the SCA.  However, it is not
your ARMS, until you receive an Award of Arms.  Or at least that is how
it was explained to me.  The difference in terminology is minor, but
apparently important.  You can only register one coat of arms, but you
may have several devices registered to you.

HHmmmmm, registering a name, I knew.... But, I thought
to register a device you had to have an AoA or equal
rank award that gave you the "Right and Dignity of
Arms..."  Have I been mistaken for 20 years, or did
that change at some point and I just never heard?
