[Namron] Badges for the Children

I have a machine that uses PES. If that is one of your types , I can do
some.
Margarite

If we are unable to locate someone to machine embroider them
inexpensively, they are simple outlines and with many willing hands it
shouldnt take long to hand emboider them using outline or chain stitch.
The ones our son got when kingdom started re-emphasizing the program
about a year and a half ago are about 2" circles. As for colors, her is
the response I got from the kingdom MOC a week ago after asking her:

Greetings HL Annabelle,
Most of the badges are on white with black or brown emblems. The
marshallette badges usually are on yellow felt with black emblems. The
heraldic badge is yellow with green emblem and the waterbearing badge is
white with a blue water drop. the sewing badge is on white with a
black/brown needle and a colored thread.
Did I answer your question? If you are not sure of a particular badge
please ask.

Adria

I, also, would be more than willing to help with the project. If we
decide to hand-embroider, the end result may not be as professional
looking, but it would give us an excuse to get together and talk as we
stitch. It could also get more people involved, and give us a chance to
teach people beginning embroidery on a simple, easy-to-complete project.

Annabelle

OK. I went to the MOC site and found most of the information that I
need to get started on these. All the art work is there, although it's
in black and white with some colors specified, but not all. Does that
mean we have some latitude in choosing colors? Also, it says that a
barony may have borders on the badges, it even uses Namron as an
example. Does the barony want a gold and black border on these badges?
It will increase the stitch count, and thus the cost when these are sewn
out, but it will look very nice. On the other hand, I can just put in a
running stitch circle to use as a cutting guide. It's my understanding
that these are to be made out of felt, which happens to take embroidery
beautifully, and doesn't ravel.

The only thing I couldn't find is the suggested size. I'm guessing
somewhere between 2 and 3 inches so that all 25 would fit on a sash, but
I'll need to know.

Sounds like a plan to me!
