[Namron] Populace for Tuesday 2-21-06

MISSING THE POINT.

People with no money to buy food can not come if purchase is required.
Therefore it puts unfair restrictions on membership.

Allow me to rephrase.

It is against SCA rules and laws to pay for food for members. Not
allowed in any manner.

That still doesn't clarify the situation. Let me quote from the orginal
email from the seneschal

"Currently I have us pencilled in at Denny's back
meeting room for our March 1 meeting (free providing that people order
food)".

According to that email, in order for the Barony to use the room at
Dennys the Barony or Baronial members must order food.

Now for those of use on limited incomes why are we being excluded since
we can't afford to "order food"

Would a better solution be to continue to use the pavilion till Spring or
a non-eating place can be acquired? According to the last Treasurer's
report the Barony has over $4000 in the account.

  No.

Sorry for the confusing screen name here as I am not subscribed to
  this list.

Due to the conditions! that Denny's has placed upon the barony for
the meeting is it my understanding the the barony is going to provide
funds for us to purchase food there??

Namron's Populace meeting will be! held at the indoor facility at
    Andrew's Park tonight at 7:30.

I have driven the roads in Norman and all is clear. The forecast
    is for
    persistent temperatures above freezing.

This will most likely be the last populace meeting at Andrews due
    to new
(higher) rates. Currently I have us pencilled in at Denny's back
meeting room for our March 1 meeting (free providing that people
    order
food). The Unitarian Universalist Fellowshi! p has also been
    suggested as
a possible meeting place ($25). If anyone else knows of possible
meeting facilities, please get in touch with me regarding
    location
    and/or rates.
