At the bottom of all these messages is a link:

This web page allows one to subscribe to the list, but it also allows
one to edit their options.  Simply type your email address in that last
box "Unsubscribe or edit options", click the button, then enter your
list password in the appropriate box on the next page.  Each month you
receive an email with your password for making changes here.

The mailing list interface is pretty clear for all the functionality it
provides, so folks should not fear checking it out.
