Showers can be improvised... At Dakani for some events Annabelle and I rigged between us a shower stall composed of three trees, some rope, old curtains, safety pins, a hose with spraying attachment... We later added some improvents like a rubber bathmat and a metal chair, :-) We shared with others, and other than it being invigorating at times, we were quite pleased with ourselves...
Before the not exactly right shower house was built at Taylor Lake, Eldern had a set of cobbled shower stalls we set up not far from the lakes edge, again hoses and sprayers...
The first shower I ever took at an event was at my First Steppes Warlord (Lloyd and Jocelyn 1) Trees, ropes, military rain panchos, wooden pallets to stand on, hoses and hand held spayer, the old kind... Later it was moved and I remember large garbage bags and ductape and staples over a knocked together wooden frame ontop of a concrete slab... It had long lines of people talking, with the added entertainment was listening to all the sqealing as the cold water hit and watching the peep show through the holes and cracks in the stalls, :-)
At One blazing Eldern, I wrapped a tarp aroud some trees next to a pump and used a pitcher ror the water untip a Walmart run produced a hose, splitter, and sprayer attachment...:-)
I remember events at Dirty Bird when I was the morning entertainment washing my hair at the pump, I always had some one to pour the cold water over my head and friends to call comment from the fire ring, :-)
If ought else fails, a water spray bottle and and a box of wipes can restore comfort, and hats and headresses can cover event hair...
Now most of these fixes are dependant on a site with running water, I don't recommend any less...
One of my first SCA camping experiances was an Eare Korr event done in a cow pasture with no water and a clump of trees for a privy, I'm not up for that kind of adventure anymore, :-)...'Stacia
