 Hey all!

I was wondering anyone wanted to help organize something for the first Pop meeting in June since I know that we have at the very least three of us with birthdays on that particular day.

It could also be a fun way to celebrate the other June birthdays as well.

Wonderful Lord Wolfgang,

Do we need to be armored?
I don't have a Pike, Halberd, Spear, or Quarterstaff but I might know a
Loving Syr who might let ME borrow one, if He isn't demonstrating His BONE
CRUSHING AUTHORITIE' in Northkeep this weekend.

Thank you for all that you do,
Pooky ~ Member of Namron's Baronial Guard

Ho Pookster,

No on the armour, as this is strictly ceremonial "Damn We Look Good" drill.
However, I would recommend not wearing sandals in case a stray butt stock
finds its way upon your foot. Yes, both ends of a Halberd can bite :)

For those who are interested, I wish to begin practice for the Namron Pike and Halberd Squad at this Sunday?s fighter practice, 2 pm at Reaves Park . My goal is to lay groundwork for a ceremonial division of the Namron Guard that is proficient in basic maneuvers with Pole Arms, as well as teach an appreciation for these beautiful weapons.

If you have a Pike, Halberd, Spear, Quarterstaff or even a 6-8 foot section of 1 1/4 ? wood round stock, please bring it with you. If not, have no fear as I will try to round up some loaner Poles. I look for this first gathering to be more of a ?ground school,? with an overview of the Pole Arm as well as what we hope to accomplish. And if it rains, we can meet under the big Pavilion, unless fighter practice is scrubbed.

Imagine the fun of standing proudly behind the chairs at Court, or even doing a simple drill routine for an audience.

If you have any questions, pleased give me a ring at 360.4150.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday.

Wolfgang

Grim,

Have no fear, as I will try to round up some extra Pole Arms we can use to
practice with. If you wish, swing by Lowe?s or Home Depot and pick up a 7
foot length of 1 ? ? pine round stock (if you can find ash, that?s even
better), trying to get as true a piece as possible. Give it a quick sanding
and finish with the stain of your choice. Then give her a few coats of Tung
Oil to finish and you will have a nice practice staff.

Eventually I would love to see a few more of the ?Storm Spears? added to the
Baronial Arsenal to give at least 6 poles for Court and Drill. A 6 person
drill team can turn out some really neat stuff.

I?ll spend some time Sunday and at future practices giving pointers on how
to find a nice Pike or Halberd, but beware collecting these things can
become addictive! Being a Viking, you would lean towards a spear, and I?ve
seen some really nice Viking spears.
