[Namron] Arrows & bows!!!

Annabelle,

Thanks for the information. If I can't find someone in the SCA to make a
bow or two, then I will contact them to see about their prices. If at all
possible though, I would like to have the bows made by a fellow SCAdian.
Anyone interested out there in Ansteorra?

I appreciate it!

Jacqueline

Jacqueline,

I have never bought from them, but I understand that woodbows.com has decent
bows at a reasonable price.

Ulf,

Steven & I would be interested in helping with the cost. We are interested
in joining the archery activities.

Can you also put me in touch with someone who can make bows? Steven & I are
starting out from scratch, so we don't have any equipment at this time.

Thanks,
Lady Jacqueline
& Victor

At populace meeting, I mentioned an estimate for arrow making. Depnding
on the source, it will cost between $350-$400 for all the parts to make
100 cedar arrows. Yes, costs have definitely gone up. Apparently,
archery equipment is subject to an 11% Federal Excise Tax except shafts.
Those have a flat $0.39 excise tax applied.

If anyone is interested in going in with me on a purchase, please let me
know. Keep in mind that you should make at least one dozen.

Oh, and the shafts are the standard 31+ inches. If someone wants, there
are sources for Fir and Spruce at that length, and for Poplar at 34".
