[Namron] December 3, 2008 Populace Meeting Minutes

OYEZ!  OYEZ!  The following items were discussed at the December 3, 2008 populace meeting of the Barony of Namron.
 
Baron Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair and Baroness Muriel ingen Gille Crist:
*  Please keep the Barony of Wiesenfeuer in your thoughts as it was announced that Baron Don Elric Dracwin and Baronness HL Dominique Michelle Le Vesseur will be stepping down in the Spring.  They will be moving the date of the Wiesenfeuer Baronial to accomodate their majesties.  Ideas are needed for a step-down gift for our cousins from the Barony of Namron.
 
*  The Barony of Wiesenfeuer will also be holding Yule Revel, this Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Camp Dakani.  Events will include the Baroness' Toy Tourney (rapier and heavy weapon), A&S competition, Royal Huntsman archery competition, Bardic competition, Visit from Father Winter, Feast, Table Decoration Contest and Weasel Competition Entries. *  The Barony of Northkeep invites you to attend a day of fun, companionship, camraderie, and learning at WinterKingdom, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Saints Peter and Paul School, 1428 North 67th East Avenue, Tulsa, OK.  Site opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m.  Several members from the Barony of Namron will be hosting classes.  There will be a complete archery track of classes, site and list heraldry classes, roundtable discussions on bardic and many other interesting opportunities for learning. *  Gulf Wars - The Red Man is once again rising in the sky.  Each group in Ansteorra has been asked to provide one nice item for the Kingdom's gift basket.  Any artisan with skills or items to share, please speak with Baroness Muriel.  
 
*  Baroness Muriel will also be hosting, with the help of Matthais the Brewer, a brewing contest in support of the Toy Tourney.Rules are simple.1. Bring 1 bottle of beer, wine, mead or cordial.2. Bring a toy (with standard toy rules, $5 limit toy)3. There must be a story associated with the beer. Remember, the lack of astory, can be a story all in itself!!4. Ingredients must be provided before the judging, unless you don'tremember.5. Mystery beer is acceptable.6. There will be two prizes awarded. One for best tasting beer, and onefor the most interesting beer.7. Applications for judging will be accepted by Matthias the Brewer (that'sme). Said applications will consist of one (or more) toys (as statedabove).8. Everyone is encouraged to enter!!!!
 
Seneschal  Master Aethelstan Aethelmearson  
*  Applications for the office of seneschal are now closed.
*  A new senschal should be named by the next populace meeting.
*  The Norman Public Library is reserved for the December 16, 2008 populace meeting.
 
Treasurer Lord Lúcás Mór mac Raghnaill
*  Hat passes will now be used to acquire funds for crown and other "gifts" purchased on behalf of the Barony, as baronial funds are no longer allowed for gift purchases.  
*  The hat pass tonight was $30.50 and a 20 pence piece.  This money will go towards the gift for the crown.
 
Herald Lady Adelheid Lilje 
*  Thank you to everyone who aided me in the updating of our group affiliations on the Kingdom Order of Precidence.  It was very exciting to be recognized by the Zodiacus Herald in the December issue of the Black Star for these efforts.  If you have received a kingdom level award, but your information is incorrect on the Kingdom OP - or - if you you have received a kingdom level award and would like to be affiliated with a specific barony or group, please contact me at shalon_reynolds at hotmail.com or the zodiacus herald at zodiacus at ansteorra.org.

Archery Marshall Baron Ulf Gunnarsson
*  Royal Huntsman will be held at Weisenfeuer Baronial on December 6, at Camp Dakani.  Loaner gear will not be availble on site for participation in this tournament; however, if you would like to participate then contact someone with gear in advance.  Also, be prepared for many surprises in the Royal Huntsman competition
*  Practice is still being held on Sundays at Lord Christian's land, under the big tree beside Lord Sebastiana's house.   19300 SE 149th Street    Newalla, OK 74857-5307
*  If there is inclement weather, please check the Barony of Namron Mailing list for cancellation of practice. 
 
Rapier Marshall Lord Orlando Giovanni di Gilead 
*  Good times were had by all at BAM.  We fought hard during the day and reveled even harded at night. 
*  Orlando will be the rapier marshall at the Wisenefeuer Yule Baronness Toy Tourney.  If it pleases their excellencies, this will be a "hen house" tournament.  "Bring out the chickens."
*Practice is still being held every Tuesday night at Lord Orlando's home.  See website for details,
 
A & S Minister Lady Veronique de Mont Saint Michel
*  Lady Veronique and her Lord Jacques just returned from France where they did "reserach" and saw a great exhibit of Celtic art.
*  Baroness Annabelle Marie Fitzsimmons won the A&S competition at Axeman.
*  Illumination Night is still being held every Tuesday, except those that coincide with Namron Populace Meetings at the home of Lady Caterina and Lord Orlando.  Starting in January, classes will include painting  and callegraphy classes.  
*  There will be a sewing A&S night on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the home of Lady Jacqueline Reynolds and Master Barat FitzWalter Reynolds.  An additional A&S sewing night will be held at their home on January 12, 2009.
*  Silk painting will also be taught by Baron Donnachdh at the sewing A&S night at the home of Lady Jacquline and Master Barat.  If you are interested in painting silk banners for the barony, or creating banners on your own, Baron Donnachdh does have some silk available to you for cost.  
 
Knight's Marshall  Lord Rolf Thorinson
*  Heavy weapons fighting will be moved to the same location as archery for the winter.  Practice should move back to the park the 1st weekend in March to prepare for Medfaire.  

 
Web Minister Baron Ulf Gunnarsson 
*  The barony is accepting applications for Web Minister (formally known as V-scribe).  
*  If applying for this office be sure to send your applications to the Regional Web Minister, the Baron and Baronness and the current Web Minister of Namron.  
 
Other Business:
 
Lady Adelheid:  My husband, Lord Lucas, will be stepping down as the Wiesenfeuer Baronial Bardic Champion at Wiesenfeuer Yule at December 6, 2008.  He encourages all to come to Yule and compete for the new titled Bard of Wiesenfeuer.  There is no official format, but the number of rounds will depend on the number of people competitng.  An exciting new piece of regalia has been commissioned by Lord Lucas as a pass down prize for the Barony of Wiesenfeur Bardic Champion.  
 
Cooks Guild:  The cooks guild meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at the home of Honorable Lord Tadgh.  See Website for Details.  
 
Lord Tadgh:  Honorable Lord Tadhg macAedain uiConchobhair and Lady Meraud de Dun Carraig will once again open their home for their annual "Orphan's Christmas."  Anyone interested in sharing the holidays with their Scadian Family is invited to to their home of Christmas day at 2:00 p.m.   Please bring a dessert or a side dish.
 
Vincenti de Murano:  An official marshall-at-large, Vincenti would like to work on collecting thrown weapons and targets for the barony so that thrown weapons practice can begin after the first of the year at the same place and time as Archery and Heavy Weapons fighting.
 
Lord Lucas and Lady Adelheid:  would like to invite you to their home on Friday, December 12, from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. for a WHITE ELEPHANT* / Dirty Santa gift exchange.  Bring your favorite holiday treat and come share in the fun.  We promise to provide hot cocoa and a log on the fireplace.  (Smalls are welcome)  Please R.S.V.P. by Wednesday, December 10. Call Lucas at (405) 639-9936 for driving directions. *White Elephant - Gifts are typically inexpensive, humorous "gag gift" items or used items from home (i.e. that ugly polka-dotted Christmas sweater with elves on it that you've had in your closet since you were 12 )
