Greetings everyone!
Just a note to say thank you so much to everyone who helped with feast. Thank
you to my co-feastcrat HL Melisande de Frayne who helped with creating the menu,
doing the shopping, making the menus, feast tokens and timelines. Thank you to
our ever faithful kitchen crew: Lady Isabella Giovanni di Gilead, Lady Katia
Giovanni di Gilead, Brigid, and Lady Marion MacKenzy. We could not have done
this without you. Whether it was cutting up veggies, washing dishes, or plating
up food, you guys always had our back. You rock! Thank you to HL Matthias who
came in to help chop veggies. Thank you to HL Kiorn and Cody who came in to wash
dishes. Thank you to Duchess Vanessa for the use of her beautiful serving
platters, bowls, and utensils. Thank you to HL Adena for coordinating our
servers and thank you to all the servers who did a fabulous job! Thank you to
the young lady whose name I cannot remember (daughter of Malcolm) who came in to
help with food prep and the young man (son of Saemun
der and Sarait) whose name I cannot remember either ... sorry I am horrible
with names ... who helped with food preparation and dishes. Thank you to Sarait
who helped with dishes on Sunday. Thank you to Randy, Melisande's husband,
who helped us prepare in countless ways including picking up last minute produce
and creating the feast menu booklets. And I think that that is just about
everyone. If there is someone that I forgot, please shoot me an e-mail and let
me know so that we can thank them properly. Thank you all again and I hope that
everyone enjoyed it!
YIS,
Lady Caterina Giovanni di Gilead

Once upon a time.
In a land far away.

A beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog
As she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an
unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said "Elegant lady, I was
once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One
kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dopper young
prince that I am.

And then my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your
castle with my mother. Where you can prepare meals, clean my clothes,
bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so."

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sauteed frog
legs seasoned in white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and
thought to herself...

I?think not.

I just want to say thank you to those that were?able to attend our handfasting.
I appreciate the support from those of you that were unable to attend, but were
most definately there in spirit.

Kolormr and I also want to thank those that helped us on our way home on Sunday
when our dragon fell lame from a busted wing.

Tim the Tall and family stopped by and luckily had the tool needed to get the
spare down, and thank you for the use of your skillet to support the jack in the
soft earth.?We will be making arrangements to get that back to you ASAP.

The odd thing was that the spare had too been punctured as well...

Luckily our newcomers (Paul and Rene) were travelling with us as well and we
were able to make a trip to?Mooneschadowe's Wally World Imporium for a
replacement wing.

When we returned, several other SCA family stopped by to make sure that we were
okay. I often talk about the SCA as a large family when describing?our group to
interested newcomers, and it was very much exemplified Sunday?afternoon in the
number of people that stopped to check on us. Paul and Rene (and soon little
Anna!)?plan to attend more events in the future. I believe that first-hand
experience with our support system helped solidfy an already strongly
inclined?decision.

I am proud to belong to such a family and even more proud to share it with
others.

Vivat to all!

YIS,

Sakami & Kolormr
