[Namron] Populace Meeting Minutes September 3, 2008

OYEZ!  OYEZ!  The following items were discussed at the September 3, 2008 populace meeting of the Barony of Namron.

Baron Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair and Baroness Muriel ingen Gille Crist:
*  Protectorate invitations need to be painted.  An opportunity  for painting said invitations will be at the Brew & Baronial Work Day, September 6, 2008 at the home of Honorable Lord Barat FitzWalter Reynolds and Lady Jacqueline Reynolds.   Additional opportunities for painting will also be held every Tuesday night (with the exception of populace meeting Tuesday) at the home of Lord Orlando Giovanni di Gilead and Lady Caterina Giovanni di Gilead.  

*  News from Gothic (via Lord Lúcás Mór mac Raghnaill)  -  The forces defending His Excellency Chiang Ti Lung were routed in battle by the combined units of St. Mark's and Moonshadowe.  However, peace reigns in the land again as Don Keys was apprehended and brought to justice for instigating this battle between neighbors.  

*  The barony's number of rapier fighters is growing.  As such, the Namron rapier fighters are asking for help in creating baronial demi-capes and baldrics.  Baroness Margarite du Battenhelm mentioned that there are four yards of gold cotton that the barony may use to help in the creation of these items.  

* The next Northern Region event is on September 20, 2008.  Triumph of the Exlipse III (Moonshadowe) will be held at Will Rogers Boy Scout Reservation in Cleveland, OK.
*  Protectorate will be held on October 10 - 12, 2008 at the Will Rogers Boy Scout Reservation in Cleveland, OK.

*  After Protectorate, the Canton of Skorragarder will be holding Axeman V, November 14 - 16 at Will Rogers and the Canton of Chemin Noir will be holding Fair of the Harvest, November 9-11 at Will Rogers.  

Seneschal  Master Aethelstan Aethelmearson  
*  As September marks the inaugural issue of The Plume, as organized and created by Sayyid Isma’il ibn Hasan ibn Assan (Ithrael), please take time to look through it and congratulate Ithrael on a job well done.   *  Tonight's populace meeting ended the silent auction being held for the leather belt created by Baroness Margarite du Battenhelm.  Money collected from the silent auction will be donated to the royal travel fund.

Treasurer Lord Lúcás Mór mac Raghnaill
*  A sign up sheet for gate workers at Protectorate will be sent around beginning September 16, 2008 (at the next populace meeting).  
*  As Protectorate draws nearer, if you need checks, reimbursements or advances, please give Lord Lucas advance notice so that he can be sure that there are two members of the signing party present to take care of treasury business.  
*  In addition to gate workers, Lord Lucas is looking for gate coordinators to help count down money after each shift.  Having several gate coordinators available will keep one person from having to be attached to the gate during the entire event.  

Herald Lady Adelheid Lilje 
*  Both Lady Adelheid and her deputy herald, Lady Isobel de Kirkbryde attended warranting class at Kings Round Table.  We are ready to accept submissions for names, devices and badges.
*  Volunteers are still needed for voice heralds at Protectorate.  Please contact Lady Adelheid if you would be willing to help with list and site heraldry at this event.  

Hospitaler Honorable Lady Adena Terricsdottir 
*  HL Adena welcomed three newcomers to tonight's populace meeting, Elizabeth, Michael and attending her first of MANY populace meetings, Baby Mary Elizabeth.  
*  HL Adena is also in charge of water bearing for Protectorate.  She will be sending out an email soon asking for Gatorade, pickles, and fruit donations.  

Archery Marshall Baron Ulf Gunnarsson
*  Archery is averaging a turnout of about 18 people.  Loaner gear is available for those wanting to participate.  In Kingdom IKAC, Lord Lawrence is currently ranked 2nd and Ulf is currently ranked 3rd.  In Kingdom Royal Rounds, Baron Donnchadh currently leads Ulf by 3 until Triumph, when he fully expects to be ahead of the Baron in Royal Round scores (*aside*  I don't know about you, but this sounds like the gauntlets have been thrown down!?)
*  The Archers would like to consider hosting the Academy of the Bow.  Please consider this possibility.  More information to come....

Rapier Marshall Lord Sebastiana Gerynot Fanelli 
*  (information via Lord Orlando Giovanni di Gilead)  Rapier practices are being held every Tuesday night (except for Populace meeting night) at the home of Lord Orlando Giovanni di Gilead and Lady Caterina Giovanni di Gilead.

A & S Minister Lady Veronique de Mont Saint Michel
*  Scribal nights are held every Tuesday at the home of Lord Orlando and Lady Caterina. Please come and help paint Protectorate invitations and baronial and kingdom awards.
*  An open invitation has been given by the Barony of Wiesenfeuer to join their A&S night on the 3rd Wednesday of each month
*  Moonshadowe's Triumph will be the next northern regional opportunity to see A&S projects on display.

V-Scribe  Baron Ulf Gunnarsson 
*  If your office has a deputy, and you and your deputy would like to have this person recognized on the Namron website, please have your deputy email the V-scribe with their name and contact information.  Personal information can not be displayed on the website without written consent.  

Other Business:
Protectorate Autocrats  Lord Orlando Giovanni di Gilead and Lord Kristen Ayre (Christian Truelove)
*  All items for protectorate are on schedule.  The latest information on Protectorate can be found at the website http://protectorate.agilejedi.com 

Protectorate Feast O'crats Lady Caterina Giovanni di Gilead and Honorable Lady Melisande de Frayne
*  Pre-cooking for Protectorate will begin on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 and continue every Tuesday night (except populace meetings) at the home of Lord Orlando and Lady Caterina.  

Lord Wolfgang von Sachsenhausen -
*  Ceremonial Baronial Guard Pike Drill will now be held on Sundays in conjunction with heavy fighter practice at Reeve's Park.  

Honorable Lord Barat FitzWalter Reynolds - 
*  The Barony will be holding a brewing and work day on September 6, 2008 starting at 8:00 a.m.  Much beer will be brewed in eager anticipation of Barat's Laurel Vigil.  The new tent poles for the baronial pavilion will be sanded and stained.  Protectorate invitations will be painted.  Following brewing there will be  a potluck dinner,  so bring whatever you like to eat.  Barat and his lady will be providing root beer and potato salad.  The community pool is next to their home and will be available for use until 9:00 p.m.   
Hasheika Maleah Farasha Raushana bint Abdullah 
*  Sites are being explored for possible places to hold approximately 300 people for a Known World Heraldic Event.  Once a place is found Namron plans to place a bid for this Known World event.  

* (Mundane Business) - Adam has been promoted to specialist!  Also, anyone who has items for care packages need to bring them to the next populace meeting, Wednesday, September 16, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. at Denny's.

There being no further business, the September 3, 2008, populace meeting of the Barony of Namron was closed.
